Concerned about formaldehyde in your RV? The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), the association representing most RV builders, has new information for you. They’ve produced a new section on their website covering the issue under the header, “Facts About Formaldehyde and RVs.”
While not an in-depth coverage of the subject, it does provide interesting information and a section of frequently asked questions. It may be a new thing to learn for some of us: Do you have an unvented propane heater in your RV? Using it releases some amount of formaldehyde into your rig. This may explain why the distaff side of our writing team says she gets burning eyes when our “Blue Flame” style heater is running hot and heavy in cold weather.
