With fuel prices heading toward $5 a gallon, it’s no surprise that many RVers plan to cut back on their RV travels this summer. According to a June survey of 1,800 RVers by RVtravel.com, 42 percent will travel fewer miles this summer than last.
More than 13 percent of the RVers surveyed reported they would not […]

Uncle Sam’s energy wizards have done what some may have said is a predictable backstep. We reported earlier that the ‘petrol prognosticators’ had gazed in their crystal barrels and pointed to an average figure for diesel of $3.62 for the year and a $3.36 guestimate for gasoline. Oh, that those figures might have […]
While fuel prices may be high, a survey of RV users says the overwhelming majority feel it’s still the best way to take to the road. The 2008 Travel Industry Association annual report, “Travel and Tourism Works for America,” says about three-quarters of RV owners surveyed said that, despite fuel prices, RV vacations are […]
While some RV manufacturers are closing plant doors or severely cutting back on production, not everyone in the industry sees high fuel prices as spelling the death of a lifestyle.
In Alberta, Canada, Darren Tam the sales manager for Paradise RV in Red Deer, says things couldn’t be looking much better. “The nice thing about our […]

RVers who travel in the Southwest within striking distance of Mexico can take advantage of diesel prices less than half what it sells for in the USA. Right now, a gallon of diesel in a Mexican border town costs about $2. Unleaded fuel is slightly higher, but still less than $3.
Here’s a report by RVtravel.com […]

We reported earlier that the government’s DOE (Department of Energy) prophecied that the price of motor fuel would go up and peak at $3.50 per gallon for gasoline. The DOE has recanted: Now they figure the price won’t do a spring peak until it hits $3.60, but to additionally muddy the water, the […]

Last month, when President Bush told the American public, “It should be obvious to you all that the [gasoline] demand is outstripping supply, which causes prices to up,” columnist and talk show host, Ed Wallace, did a double take.
Wallace, who hosts the top-rated Texas radio talk show, Wheels, and writes a regular column in the […]

While fuel prices are doing the skyrocket thing, it’s nice to see that one fuel–diesel–actually saw a price decline. While it may be more “up like a skyrocket, down like a feather,” the federal government reports that diesel fuel prices actually went down an average of two and a half cents across the US […]
